Is there a way out in this market?
I’m at a (redacted) bank on probably the strongest team that flies extremely under the radar given it’s niche nature.
I am currently staffed on 6+ live deals, leading 3, 2 of which where I am the only junior below director. I’m struggling to find any time to sleep, no one reviews my work which adds to the anxiety of it given that I just rolled into my second year. While I have excelled enough to earn a top bonus, I truly don’t think this position is worth it. Working late into the AM 7 days a week, pulling 1 hour sleep nights twice a week is truly taking a toll.
Haven’t had any time to prepare for interviews and when I did get lucky with a an opportunity I had to move the call time multiple times due to fire drills.
Any recommendations on how to find a lateral in this market or handle this situation?
Drop a minor ball. And next time you get an inteview....take it no matter what, find an excuse "my phone died and I was in traffice" or "I have a medical procedure scheduled". Any place this short staffed isn't going to let up, you have to take action.
