Is this a scam?
I received an email from a LinkedIn job posting I applied to. The sender did not include what company this position was for, sent the email from what appears to be a personal gmail account, and ended the email with "Hiring Manager" instead of their name. Lastly, they ask for a credit report as well.
All this seems fishy to me; however, they did include the job application response that recruiters on LinkedIn see. So, is this a scam?
Seems weird, I would avoid that. Even if not a scam, this does not seem like a reputable place, this won’t lead to anything solid.
Your intuition has served you well. It’s a scam. No employer is going to ask for a credit report out of the gate. Report it if you can.
