Is this standard?

Applied to McKinsey and have an on campus interview two weeks later for a summer position. Got a email from an alum couple days ago telling me that he was an alum in the college of engineering just like me and because engineering students don't get much exposure to case studies too often, he would like to help me prepare with some practice cases and told me to reply him with a time for an hour-long phone conversation where we will do a practice case and he will provide feedback. Do they do this to all candidates? Is it standard? I mean they are interviewing like 20 kids just from the college of engineering. Where do they find so many consultants to be free to do something like that?

definitely a good sign as someone in the firm took an interest in you...advice is just to prepare for case studies beforehand and give a good impression in the phone call...

They asked me to provide a time. How should I do that? Should I say based on his availability because he is busy? I can't actually do that because I will be interviewing or in class most of the time. Should i give him several options?
