Isn't FT recruiting all but over at this point?

From my experiences, what I've heard from others and some of the questions posted I'm getting the sense that almost every firm has other finished FT hiring or are in the final superday process.

bankerellaI'm actually a little out of touch with what the rest of the process looks like this year, but if it's anything like prior years, I'd expect hiring to be largely wrapped up in the next 2-3 weeks.

Bankerella,

what should I do if I haven't sent out any applications yet? I have a strong resume (3+ internships in PE and IBD since freshman year).

Is it distasteful to apply for a masters just so I can qualify for SA positions? I heard a lot of consulting recruiting hasn't even started yet?

Let me get this straight -- you're a senior, you've worked in PE and IBD, but you forgot that recruiting happens in September?

The other kids have been honing their resumes and pounding the pavement since the first day of school, trying to make the best of their one shot, but you have been really busy... saving the world? IPOing your startup?

Kid, you're damn lucky the masters' degrees are there to save your ass. Doesn't matter whether it's distasteful; what matters is that it's better than nothing.

Of course, you could always apply to something that doesn't wrap its first rounds in September. I hear Teach for America is still hiring.

It's not distasteful if it lands you a job; regardless of whether it lands you a job, it WILL be expensive.

FT recruiting, while not completely over, is wrapping up soon (in most structured processes at least).

It's pretty much all done... if you get an interview consider yourself extremely lucky or prepare to interview for spots that don't even exist...

I have a lot of deadlines that have not passed yet. Just start tonight and throw out as many apps as you can. Start with the BB´s, their deadlines are either passed or fast approaching. The smaller firms have deadlines in October or even later.

Just got accepted for McKinsey interviews, a few MM PE/VC interviews, and MM IBD interviews. Buddy just got into elite boutique interviews (lucky mother f...). With the exception of BBs, MANY of great firms are JUST STARTING THEIR HIRING PROCESS, so FUCKING START NETWORKING if you feel a little down in this career market. I only got these interviews because I impressed one guy at the firm on my first meeting, and they pulled hard for me to get an interview.

Cheers.
