Job Advice for Career Transition in Finance

Someone with my background who has worked in a mid-sized tech firm for last 5 years dealing with Accounting, corporate finance, Tax and then transitioned into Capital market working at Bloomberg for last 1 year as an consultant role. Currently Unemployment for last 3 months due to the market. I have MBA but not from Top Business school. After my college years I was unable to work in a financial service because I had work Visa problem, so I had to work in a Tech sector. After my Green Card, I was transition into working at the Capital Market. My experience at Tech firm was good, but just making the point of emphasis.

Actively, looking for a career transition into Junior Investment Analyst in either Hedge Fund, Asset Management or small boutique investment bank or an advisory role anywhere in the U.S, but prefer to stay around the Tri-state area. Salary range between 40-60K, but more important the opportunity to enhance and grow. Currently Studying for my CFA for June 2010 for Level 1.

A) Just apply online and also submit my resume and cover Letter to as many small and mid-cap investment firms. B) Network as much possible using Linkedin, Twitter, Alumni etc c) Try all free websites and look for jobs such as Monster, Careerbuilder, Efinancial..etc d) Call as many Head-hunters as possible

Somebody warned me not to use Doostang because of lack of experience such as 1 year solid investment banking Experience. I not strictly looking for Front office, I am open to work in Front, Middle or Back office. All I want is work in a financial firm. I know there has to be one firm, willing to hire me and teach me grounds up. I am not looking the most exotic job, I just need one job in a financial firm.

Can somebody please tell me what is the best strategy for somebody with my background and goals
