Job opportunities in India/Canada after US undergrad
Can you tell me the about the job opportunities in India and Canada after my undergrad in US (finance major) from some mediocre business school like the one in UIUC or Northeatsern university. This is mainly because non-STEM majors can not work for more than one year in the US after undergrad. Thank you, this would be a great help for sure.
Hey Akshat-Jain, I'm the WSO Monkey Bot and I'm here since nobody responded to your topic! Bummer...could just be unlucky but one of these topics will help shed some light:

Thank you. I guess only some Indian can help with this query lol.
Can’t comment on India, but your options in Canada are very slim. It’s a much smaller playing field than US, and lion’s share of opportunities go to locals with local education (undergrad business, economics, engineering b/gs and MBAs - e.g. Ivey, Queens, UofT Rotman, schulich, etc.), and some other roles to those from US schools (often times Canadians that went to top US MBA or maybe like an international MBA like INSEAD or LBS).
There are formal recruiting programs/channels out of Canadian and some US schools (for example CPPIB looking at US MBAs), and also through networking and connections. There's also not much recognition or familiarity with US programs outside of the ivy’s or similar schools.
You’re better off just looking in US (try and find sponsorship with a big firm), or India.
What do you think about doing undergrad from Canada (from Queen's/Sauder/Rotman) and then pursuing a job there? My main reason to avoid US is the rule for international students under which they can not work for more than a year after their undergrad. Thank you.
