False. Worked in Ares LA last summer and all but 1 ACOF intern got returns. In ASOF all interns got returns. In Direct Lending 2/3 got returns and both REPE interns are coming back.

JPM has a seat for each intern full-time so you have to brutally fuck up to not get a return

Ares PE for sure. Everyone at JPM work their asses off in hopes of something like Ares PE so better to be there from the start. I say this as someone who works at JPM
