Law School to Finance

Hi everyone, I’m a second year law student at Columbia Law, and I’ve realized that I’m not very passionate about the law. I’m planning on working in m&a for a year or 2 at a top law firm and then transitioning into finance from there. Would this be possible, or would it be better for me to get a separate MBA after working in law for some time to transition into a finance role?
