Leaving FT BO Retail Banking for Analyst Program/Internship

Hello all,

I'm hoping someone can provide some professional advice. My story goes like this...

I served four years in the military and attended a middle-tier four-year private after coming home and got my undergrad degree in finance with a near perfect GPA.

While going to school I worked FT in retail banking back office (3 years of FT exp). I worked this job because I needed income to get through school. Because of this I never took summer internships.

I'm about to start attending a PT MBA program at a top business school in the area and my question is really how risky is it to shoot for a FT analyst program in IB and leave my current job?

My concern is not receiving a permanent FT offer and being left with no income in the end, and hunting for jobs which seems to be extremely competitive while continuing to get my MBA. What is the rate for FT offers in these programs?

Your thoughts are appreciated.
