For what reason would you lie about your age, especially if the lie is only to claim that you're 12 months younger than you really are?

Since you told one partner the truth, tell them you misspoke if they ask why you gave two different ages. At that point, stop lying; it almost invariably ends poorly when the liar gets exposed. Respectable people don't respect liars - this applies to every facet of life.

Side note: I doubt they're even going to remember the number you gave them. Seems so inconsequential, although that is a strange question to be asked in the first place.

They're not allowed to ask your age. With regard to your question, don't do either. Just pretend you misspoke if called out on it.

That's not a problem at all. Relax man. It wasn't intentional, and it wasn't really something that they care about. If you are losing sleep over this, email him to clarify it. Just tell him you just had your birthday and you haven't built up the new right reaction when being asked about age. Phrase it smartly. But seriously, I don't think anybody would count this as lying.
