Looking for new names

Hey monkeys,

First post here, have a ramping process set for when I’m looking at companies for the first time. What I struggle with is how to find new names in the first place.

What resources do people use, what’s the best way to go about finding new prospective companies?

Also as a person just starting out does it make sense to just pick a sector and run with it or explore all kinds of companies?

Pick a sector, generate ideas and monitor. Go for something you have a personal interest in and wouldn’t mind covering while you apply to places. I’m also a hopeful, happy to keep in touch to share ideas/keep each other accountable if you’re down 😊

I don’t really understand how you can’t figure that out… look at a sector, figure out who the key players are, understand them decently well and then maybe move down cap to smaller peers where there’s more likely to be something overlooked.

If you have any research access then this should be really easy - just pick a random analyst (or one who covers a space you’re interested in) and look at their coverage. Industry level research should make the ramp even easier
