Looking to lateral post-Covid?

Hi guys:

I'm looking to lateral to an experienced associate / senior associate role after Covid, for a variety of reasons. I'm interested in exploring private investing or cross-capital structure investing. Given the current market environment, I'd love to know what you guys are seeing in terms of how much it impacts recruiting...how long should I "buget" in terms of making a switch post-Covid? (I'm remaining at my current firm in the mean time). I'm curious about what the backlog looks like (assuming a lot of experienced/qualified professionals have been postponing their moves due to Covid)...is their a large "glut" of professionals that need to be absorbed?

Thank you!
