LT goal is to go corporate >> go to PE or stay in IB?

Currently in IB. If I aim to go into corporate long-term (corp dev, strategic finance, etc.), does it make sense to go to PE for a short while or should I stick to IB until ~VP? I'm not interested in doing investing long-term, but I'm wondering if a short PE stint could be valuable in terms of skillsets (closer to operations and strategy than IB).

Thanks
