May 2018 Graduate Offer at a Research Firm (CapIQ, Preqin, Factset)

Hi all,

As the title mentions, I am a 2018 grad and have been working odd jobs since graduation while looking for a FT role. My goal was IB but with an non-traditional background and no connections, I am willing to take anything related. So, I managed to secure an offer as a research analyst at one of the firms mentioned in the title. The role is largely cold calling/emailing PE firms to gather data. I am worried that if I take this job then it would hurt my chances of moving into a front office role down the road. On the other hand, I cannot continue to bartend/wait tables because of the resume gap. So, WSO should I take the offer and keep networking or wait till something better comes along?

Thanks!
