Missed Out on Summer Analyst Programs In College. Any Chance at IB?

When looking at the hiring structure at BBs and boutiques, it seems that in order to obtain an IB offer upon graduation you need tons of internship experience throughout college. It also seems key to have been a summer analyst and many kids get an offer from the bank that they spent their summer at. I researched postings, and at pretty much every single BB their summer analyst program requirements state you must be a rising senior in college.

So here’s the question, if you missed out on being a summer analyst going into senior year, is there any paths to IB in early 20s? I get the feeling that if you missed out on being a summer analyst then its over. Anyone have thoughts or opinions on this?
