Mixed signals on follow ups????

Hey, I'm a 2nd year finance major at a semi target in Canada and I emailed a IBanker for coffee and didn't get a response, then followed up and he asked me to follow up in 2 weeks cuz things are busy. So I followed up after 2 weeks and haven't heard anything back. Do I follow up again or move on??

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Try again. Worst case is that he declines the coffee due to some reason or another. If you don’t contact him he wont be in your network - and follow up rarely damages someone’s impression of you.

Send him a short email and ask if it’s possible to schedule a talk sometime down the road.

I’m sure he gets flooded by emails and work can easily get hectic. Realistically he might have simply forgotten.

However I would advice not to mention that he missed the last meeting - just agree on another date and pretend like nothing happened unless he brings it up and provides a reason to why he couldn’t make it.
