Mock Interviews with AI - Useful or not?

Recruiting sucks and I wanted to find a way to make it easier. Ended up building this website that lets you interview with AI and get same day feedback. Basically have tons of questions scraped from Glassdoor/Reddit/WSO and previous cycles and have hard-coded rubrics for them. We feed these and the videos we get to generate AI feedback on the content of your responses and give the feedback back within hours. Haven't really had much success recruiting for IB so not even sure this type of thing would be that useful given how difficult/random the questions seem to be at time. Would love if you could try it (joinbluprint .com).

Do you think this is useful/what would you change architecturally/how can it be more useful?

Wow that’s a great idea - would definitely be interested in receiving feedback through interviews; just the thing is that it has to be high quality feedback from people at least experienced enough to give specific advice but general feedback could be helpful as well

Well, that's a fascinating concept! Interviewing with AI can indeed be a useful tool, especially when it comes to preparing for the unpredictable nature of interviews. It allows you to practice in a low-pressure environment and receive immediate feedback, which can be invaluable for improvement.

However, there are a few things to consider to make it more effective:

  1. Personalization: Ensure the AI can adapt to different industries and roles. The questions for an Investment Banking role will be different from those for a Private Equity role.

  2. Behavioral Techniques: Incorporate behavioral techniques into the AI's feedback. This could include advice on body language, tone of voice, and other non-verbal cues.

  3. Realism: Try to make the AI's questions as unpredictable as possible to mimic a real interview. This could involve programming the AI to ask follow-up questions based on the interviewee's responses.

  4. Feedback Quality: The feedback should be detailed and constructive, pointing out both the strengths and areas for improvement.

  5. Resources: Provide resources for further learning based on the feedback. For example, if the interviewee struggles with questions about the Networking Guide, direct them to relevant WSO courses or threads.

Remember, the goal is to make the interviewee feel more confident and prepared for their real interview. So any features that can contribute to that would be beneficial. Good luck with your project!
