What division are you referring to?

You usually don't hear from HR until a week before your interview (they give you just barely enough time to book flight and accommodations). If you were moving forward, you would probably get an unofficial nod from one of your interviewers or your contact from within the firm before HR contacts you.

Sorry. I was referring to IBD. The interview seemed to have gone really well, but I have no official contacts within the firm. I guess I'll just have to wait another week...

paco, how was your interview. I had 2 30 minute phone interviews. One was with hr and the other was with an analyst. I didn't get asked a single technical question.

i only had 1 30 min phone interview with HR. no technicals and only a few behaviorals...was a joke. i wish they weren't so slow!!! haha

Hey guys, I have a contact who is a banker at MS. He told me that non-core candidates get interviewed once core schools are complete.

I assume you are referring to the final round, because I already had my first round phone interview.

I just spoke with HR and I asked about the final round interview. She said they have not scheduled a date yet.

i was told today that they may not be hiring any non-core students this summer, which is why they've been taking so long to get back to us...

morgan stanley is the best bank in the whole world. they are so amazing and good at everything and smart and talented. they are allowed to be really cocky.

Paco, I heard the same thing. The summer analyst class will reduce in size drastically, meaning no room for non-core candidates.

I applied to Morgan Stanley S&T for this summer from a non-target school. I a 30 minute phone interview on Friday, and have my super day this coming Wednesday.

They are definitely still recruiting non-target schools in S&T.

I had a superday at MS this past week, coming from a target, so I don't know whether that's any help. Four 30 minute interviews, comprised of 95% the standard/fit and 4% technicals, and one easy brainteaser. It was weird though, because it seemed as if I was the only applicant on that day (while waiting in the lobby, I came across prospective Associates for Hong Kong, but not a single undergrad). The employees I met were absolutely amazing and genuine, and really went the extra mile to deviate from the usual tense atmosphere of an interview.

Ben is right they are still recruiting non-target for S&T. HR called me last week to invite me to superday, but I have already accepted an offer somewhere else. So, they should still be calling around to non-targets, though i think everything is beginning to slow down.

i'm at a non target, and have my superday next tuesday.
