Mortgage Industry to Wall Street?

Hello Monkeys,

First post, so I should hope you guys cut me some slack! Anyway, heres the situation:

I am currently a wholesale account executive for a top 2 mortgage company in the country. I started about 10 months back after 2 years successful years at a large mortgage lender as a loan officer. I work in a large, East Coast market (Philadelphia).

I am doing well, and building a good business, but I have always craved working in New York. It would be great to move into more of the securitization side, but enterprise strategy and marketing/advertising always appealed to me as well.

Does anyone out there know anyone has done something similar? IE are all the people in these roles filled via new grads and internally? Or will they consider people who have a depth of experience in the field.

I would appreciate any/all advice on the potential for advancement in the future (not looking immediately (unless you're hiring))

-AJL
