Moving from sell-side quant to buy-side quant

To start, I was extremely fortunate to get accepted into a large BB Quant Rotational program. In the program, we as Analyst essentially get to get experience working in multiple Quant Analytics departments within the bank.

My end goal is to make it to the buy-side as a quant. I intend working for a year or two on the sell-side and then leverage my skills to go work in the investment world.

With me being able to move anywhere within the Quant space on the sell-side, where would you recommend I get experience in order to best transition to the buy-side?

Sorry if this seems like a novice question, thanks!
