Need help choosing between internships

Hi all, I need some help choosing between 2 banks with very different internship roles. My ultimate goal is front office in a BB (think JPM, CS, GS, MS), be it either in IBD or Sales & Trading (which I am leaning towards). Although unsure between IBD or S&T, I know how important it is to not pigeonhole myself in the banking industry, I have an internship offer for a position in the Fixed Income Research department in a Tier 3 bank (AUM roughly 125b USD) compared to a Credit Risk Management job in a Tier 2 bank (think BNP, Normura.. etc).

I know the latter is a middle office role and took advice from an experienced recruiter for BB banks (JPM, CS) who cautioned me that the Credit Risk role might potentially make me less appealing to future recruiters for front office. Which job offer should I take on for a better shot at breaking into front office? However, upon browsing this forum, I have seen some people who say that credit risk isn't all that irrelevant as it does provide good training and transferable skills to IBD (Lev Fin) like financial statement analysis, etc..

Better sounding position with more relevance but less name brand or a less relevant job (credit analysis, not sure if its transferable to IBD/S&T) at a more reputable bank? Also, will it be difficult to land IBD offers if I had a FI Research internship under my belt? Thank you all for your help and I appreciate it!
