Need help transitioning from alternative investments contracts to finance/banking

I'm quite in a dilemma at the moment and I would highly appreciate any advice.

Since 2012, I've been working as an investments analyst on a contract basis with alternative investments such as real estate and diamonds. I was working well in my contracts, bringing great results to my clients. All that changed recently when the contract work dried up. I'm currently working in office admin to pay the bills but I miss working with investments.

I am seeking to transition into a similar role in finance or banking but as a perm contract, but not sure where to turn. Any advice would be appreciated.
