Networking after getting rejected from a club

Hey all, frosh here at a target school who wanted to get some advice on a situation regarding networking. So basically there aren’t many people from my area at my school, but out of the few, one does IB at GS and interned at an alum founded MM PE shop a few mins away from where I live during his freshman summer. Now ideally ofc I’d reach out, but he was one of my interviewers from a club that ended up rejecting me, so I’m not sure as to what the optics would be regarding any potential networking with him. Would appreciate any advice. Thanks!

Definitely is when considering the per capita amount of offers, how many kids are looking for spots (like 50), how responsive alumnus are, how NESCAC people will get back to u as well. Def easier to get an offer there than most would think

14x GS last yr and second per capita to Wharton so I’d say we’re a pretty good target lol. OCR for GUGG and MS already on the calendar and we’re only three weeks into school. Nice try

Current sophomore here at top target - applied for an ultra competitive investment club last year and got rejected. Asked for a coffee chat with two of my interviewers and was able to get advice from them, ended up joining the club next semester.

My advice is to approach them being willing to learn and take advice. Don’t go asking for anything. Then start to stay up to date with the news, know your company/trend/why this club answers by heart, and crush interviews next semester. Best thing to do right now is to work hard
