Networking between Christmas and New Years

Honest question: Is it inappropriate or considered "rude" to network between Christmas and New Years? I assume that many people take this time off so I was wondering if it is best practice to just wait until the New Year to resume sending cold emails and scheduling calls. Thanks

If a kid sent me a “networking” email this week I’d delete it without even reading it, assuming that they’re too socially inept / don’t have the EQ to be someone I’d want to work with. Everybody who can, is using this time to decompress and spend time with their family and loved ones. Hell, the only reason I’m looking at WSO right now is because I’m taking a traditional, enormous post-Christmas shit. Don’t send them the week of Jan 2nd either because people are going to be digging out and getting back to reality. Merry Christmas!

Yeah 2nd week of January is probably the best time to do outreach again. Squeezed in a networking call right before last weekend only because I knew the person well and had a few questions regarding an opening at his firm. I would have no way sent that email last week for a quick call if it was a cold email.

EDIT: It sucks OP but also a good time to do other stuff (take online classes / learn a new skill, take it easy the next 2 weeks). That's pretty much what I'm doing now.
