New Grad in need of Help

Hi. I graduated end of summer from a non-target and I am seeking jobs in equity research, ibanking and real estate analysis. I have been applying since Aug. and I am not getting any emails or calls back. Should I be doing more than just submitting applications? If so, what? Secondly, What is the best way to network for these types of positions. Would it be appropriate to randomly message someone on linkedin? If so, what would I even say? Thank you to all who respond!
