No internship, how screwed am I??

I'm a rising junior at NYU. I had an internship at a HF lined up; however, because of a huge delay in processing work authorisation (I'm an international student) I can't do the internship anymore - OPT takes a lot of time to process and now it's too late because I still haven't completed that process and by the time I will get all the documentation it will be august. I had done an internship at a HF this spring during the school year. And I'm trying to find something for this fall as well because I won't be able to do anything this summer. How screwed am I?

I won (sort of.. came 3rd) this trading competition organised by someone so I have a guy with some damn strong connections trying to pull for me somewhere for next summer (which is how I got interviews at coatue, a couple of other funds) but I'm worried that not doing anything this summer will make it almost impossible for me to find something next summer.

Because I can't do an internship, I'm trying to work on some projects but I don't really know what to do now
