No return offer

Did a SA at GS/MS/JPM in IB but unfortunately didn’t get a return offer despite having received good feedback. Applied for a couple of SA and FT but haven’t been invited to any interviews yet… feel like not converting is a big red flag on my cv and no bank will ever hire me. Should I be worried?

If nothing works out in your local country, try other regions or other industries.
At some point you'd have applied to all the banks and that would be it for that year.

any specific reason why a return offer was not extended?

Combination of limited exposure with the decision makers, limited headcount and already enough people speaking my language (I am from continental Europe) in the team. My work was praised but I think I was not visible enough. But it’s difficult mentally to be that close to the « top » and now being rejected/ghosted by 2nd tier banks

Many candidates in Europe have plenty of languages (spanish, German, English and French) and also multiple SAs. so.. yeah, it's hard.
Sorry it didn't work out. all you can do now is keep applying to other jobs or try it again  next year.

Not getting the return isn’t a red flag on a cv. You just need to be honest for why that was the case as every interviewer will likely ask why no return offer.

I’m currently doing FT interviews for my group (our intern sucked and didn’t get an offer) and we actually are looking for candidates with formal IB internship experience. We always ask why they didn’t receive / accept the return offer and based on the answer, yes they may be axed (had one kid say it was because he never responded to emails on the weekends), but it definitely isn’t a red flag.

TLDR: Not receiving a FT offer isn’t a red flag, stay patient, keep applying around and have a honest answer for why u didn’t receive the offer.

Someone had the audacity to say in an interview that he doesn't reply emails in the weekend as a banker? How retarded is this GenZ??
