Non trad wondering on chances in middle markets

I was prompted to create this thread by signing up. I am unfamiliar with with the cultural expectations of the forum, so I apologize at the outset if I am screwing up by posting this. By way of background: I am a mid-30s analyst at a large health care organization. I graduated from a T14 law school after some time in the military and now do a bit of everything for this org. I am not licensed to practice law and have no interest in doing so, but I do a significant amount of compliance, data analysis in R and Python (and SPSS if lazy), and will, from time to time, do some analysis for the purposes of acquisitions. My hope is to eventually work in an IBank doing M&A work, or doing analyst duties for boutique healthcare firms. To further my goals, I have decided to pursue the charter, but have not passed any exams yet.

My questions:

  1. I recognize bulge bracket as a goal is probably lulzy, if not outright dumb, but do you think the same holds true for the ones I listed above?
  2. Given my goals, is there any advice you can give that would make me a stronger candidate?

Again. my bad if I posted this too hastily. I will look through more of the site's offerings to try and answer my own questions.
