Non-Traditional Paths to HF

Hey all. Just here to ask for advice from anyone who might have it. I'm a 1L at Harvard Law who went to a target/Ivy Undergrad. I don't have much work experience, but came into law school knowing I'd either want to do M&A law out of law school and then try and jump into an investing role, or to do so straight out. It's obviously early in my law school career, but I was wondering if anyone had any advice or insights on how I might keep my options open about potential careers in HF investing out of law school. How do I effectively network with these firms, especially while in Boston?

Thanks for your help!

Puzzles me why people that are not dead set on law as a career path make the choice to go to law school. There’s so many other things that you could be doing to better position yourself to join a HF, all while saving time and money.

Target/Ivy undergrad and Harvard Law, and you’re asking us for advice on how to break into a hedge fund.

I guess you can start studying for the CFA.

Lol sorry, I know I should be networking better, but I come from an impoverished background and for some reason haven't personally met many people who are helpful in these areas/could guide me. I really don't know where to start.
