Off-Cycle Remote Internship – Worth It for AM Recruiting

Hey all,

I’ve got a Summer 2026 FP&A internship lined up at a top AM firm, and last summer I did another FP&A internship. Right now I’m abroad and interning in AM for the semester. Since AM is where I ultimately want to go, I’ve been thinking about lining up an off-cycle remote internship closer to AM for this winter or during my school year.

A few notes:

  • I was planning on working during the school year anyway, so the time commitment isn’t the issue.
  • My school’s in the middle of nowhere so it would need to be remote.
  • Already stacked with FP&A experience, but I don’t want recruiters thinking I’m deadset on FP&A.
  • Also I am an EU and US dual citizen

Question is: would doing another AM internship during the school year actually help me break into AM, or should I just double down on trying to get my GPA up (3.32 right now)?

Any advice is appreciated.
