Phone call or Zoom for networking calls?

I am a rising sophomore trying to go into IB and have been networking with college alumni in IB  recently. My question is whether it is better to ask alumni for a Zoom call or a phone call.

This distinction obviously might not seem like a big deal to many of you, but from the way I think about it doing a phone call versus Zoom has its pros and cons.

Zoom calls definitely create a closer connection with the person I talk to, but I also feel like asking for a Zoom call makes me a pain in the ass. If I were in their position cranking 80+ hour weeks I would not be thrilled to hop on a Zoom with a random kid that serves me no personal benefit.

On the other hand, phone calls are definitely more convenient, but they also result in connections that feel a bit more forced and superficial. I doubt anyone I have had a phone call with would actually be willing to pull for me at a firm.

Maybe I am overthinking this, but I would appreciate any input anyone might have.

Phone call, usually analysts are working when you are doing a chat.
