Post grad ER internships

Hey all,

Just graduated in May 2018 from a non-target and am looking to break into ER. I live and went to school in a town with virtually no ER/IB presence so it's been tough to land an internship in the field-- I was involved in my schools investment fund along with internships at an accounting firm and in PWM at a BB where I did some fundamental research on stocks in our universe. I also just sat for the CFA Level 1 exam last month.

With that being said, there is little FT internship postings for during the year so I am trying to gain some advice on how to go after one. Currently targeting CT area for sell side ER shops and reaching out through linkedin -- any thoughts on where else to look/how to go about asking for internship avail abilities/ other strategies?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
