Post grad internships
Hi does anyone know if you can still intern after being graduated a few years? For example if you've been working elsewhere but not in Finance specifically, would it advantageous to do so or just apply regardless having minimal direct experience within Wall St the past few years? Thanks.
Summer analyst a year after graduation? (Originally Posted: 09/11/2012)
I graduated in April and want to break into IB in an analyst role. I have been working as an acquisitions analyst at a private equity firm (CRE) for six months, and have intern experience at another CRE firm from last year.
I'm having a tough time because I'm in a weird middle ground. I'm not an "experienced professional" per se but I'm not an undergrad senior either. A lot of the summer analyst programs at IBs specifically state you have to graduate between December 2012 and June 2013.
What's my best shot at getting an analyst role? Try for a summer program, apply for "experienced" positions, or another route? I have 3.7 upper-division GPA, double major in Finance and Real Estate from Florida State.
