Preparing for IB scholarship

Hi all,

I am a first-year student hoping to get an IB scholarship from one of the top 5 banks in Canada through their diversity programs.

For those unaware of such programs, they are scholarship programs by Canadian banks to promote diversity in their capital markets division. I believe most of them look for minorities or individuals with barriers. I meet a few of these barriers, as well as good academic standing, however, I do not have any extra-curricular activities or community involvement as I am also working outside of my studies (I live alone and pay all of my bills).

How can I boost my personal profile for these scholarships and/or get a general internship? What exactly are they looking for?

PS-- Joining a sports team is not feasible for me.

Thanks for your answers!
