Only do Q if you want to do banking long term. Q exits don’t come close to GS

guessing you used to work at GS - which is of course a great accomplishment in and of itself.  No one denys that GS has great exits, it's just that no one from Q really desires the traditional exits.  Whereas no one at GS actually desires to stay there past the two years or less it takes to leave to PE.   A good way to look at it is the interview process.  GS has a standard top-tier BB interview, they of course screen harder than say BAML, but Q is like 10 rounds of interviews.  They're not a normal IB and you'll work with insanely smart people who are very passionate about tech.  Most of GS and Wall Street are just passionate about making money.

Q

"If you always put limits on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them." - Bruce Lee

Qatalyst is a no brainer. I'm guessing you already know this and came for a sanity check but you're right. Have a great time at Qatalyst!

Qatalyst but most analysts don't really recruit for the buyside, a lot just stay at Q bc the pay is really good.  They'll get the same opportunities as GS TMT but most just choose not to participate.
