Reaching Out After They Said They Would

Would it be a bad idea to reach out to someone after they had said they were busy at the moment and will follow up in the coming weeks? This was a month ago, and I still haven't received any word. Should I send a note and ask if they'd be free to chat sometime soon?

Been in this spot many times. Depends on the timing of this - But if they said that a month ago, there intent was to get back. If it has been a month it is appropriate to get back w a short note as a reminder. They would’ve responded in the first place if they didn’t want to chat.

something short. Hey - thanks again for offering to speak with me. I know that you are incredibly busy but if you have the chance, etc.
