Reaching out to my company's alums for job / networking purposes
I am based in Canada. But my company has presence in the US and I would like to network with some of my company's alumni for jobs. These alums know my current supervisors. I think I am well regarded at work and was promoted 6 months ago in what was a record time. I am also in early 30s and so have at least a few yrs of work experience. Can I say in my outreach to alum that I would like to have a "confidential discussion" or is it obvious or should I use somthing diffrent? Obviously don't want them (alums) to share my departure plans with my current team but maybe I am over thinking....
