Recent Graduate Programs/ Wholesaler Positions
Hello Everyone,
I graduated from school in May and after spending time researching entry-level positions for different financial institutions, I quickly noticed I was in a nerve-wracking situation. In a nutshell, I noticed most companies are looking for 1-3 years of experience for entry level positions. In order to be eligible for those requirements, I would need to gain the experience through an internship. In order to be eligible for an internship, I need to be a current student (which I am not). So I found myself in a professional conundrum. Over time, I noticed a lot of companies offer programs geared towards recent graduates (most companies I've seen consider a recent graduate to be someone whose graduation date was no more than 12 months ago). I also became interested in pursuing a career as a wholesaler. After making these observations, I googled "List of Mutual Fund Companies" and found a wikipedia page with a list of mutual fund companies. I then visited the website of each of the companies on the list and noted whether a recent graduate program/ wholesaler position was available. I have attached my findings to this post as a .PDF file. Also, the user "salad" created a post titled "Thread for Firms Still Conducting Interviews" that this post serves to supplement. I hope this list helps anyone that is a "recent graduate" that may be looking for work or someone that is interested in pursuing a career as a wholesaler. Lastly, it is important to note that I intend to cold call/email most of the companies on this list (some no longer exist) to see if they have any open positions ( If you are looking for work, I have come to notice that this is a really effective way of networking for employment purposes).
Have a great weekend!
