Recruiter told me firm wanted to interview me, then went silent for 5 days.
I’ve been talking to a third-party recruiter for the past two weeks. I sent my resume over and he said he had feedback from the team and that they wanted to interview me. This was 5 business days ago. Today, I call back and he tells me that he’s still waiting to hear back from the firm.
I’m in a different city. The morning after we talked, I sent him a list of days where I could fly out to the other city (basically said I could be there any day within two days notice).
Should I stop worrying? This is for an experienced hire role. It just seems like a long time to be waiting to setup a date.
Ok - yeah you're fine. Things take time.
Thanks, I guess I’ll be patient.
Often recruiters are similar to HR folks - if you don't get the job, they don't necessarily feel obligated to let you know... they have a ton of people they would need to contact and it's just not worth their time to reach out to each candidate and say "Hey, you didn't get it". Not necessarily great for building a relationship, but hey.
Yeah I definitely understand that. It just seems odd to me that they’d tell me The firm wants me to come in for a interview and then hire someone without me ever having a chance to interview.
