Recruiting for a Specific Coverage Group

First post in the jungle, so I hope I don't come out smelling like shit.

I'm currently a rising junior interning for a boutique tech investment bank, and I've started to do some networking, but I've mainly focused on reaching out to people in the tech groups. I'd prefer to be in a tech coverage group next year at a larger bank, but I wouldn't mind being in another group at a bank I like.

I was wondering if anyone else has been in a similar situation (whether it be tech/consumer retail/energy etc.), and whether or not I'm focusing too narrowly. My experience and story fit well with tech banking in particular.

Thanks in advance.
