Recruiting from Menlo Park IB

Wanted to see if anyone has experience recruiting for PE from a Menlo Park IB role. How did the on-cycle process work in normal years, given that some Menlo Park-based firms would fly out to NYC to be a part of on-cycle? Was the whole headhunter process different as well, and are you on the same on-cycle timeline as NYC IB analysts, or do you have to recruit on a more ad-hoc/off-cycle basis?

Thanks!
