Recruiting timeline for this cycle?

Hi, incoming sophomore undergrad here, I was wondering how the timeline looks for IB recruiting? I know it starts early but how early are we talking? Beginning of summer? During the second semester of the school year? And when does it end? (Christmas time, carries into new year, etc?)

And also, are the timelines sometimes bank specific? For example, will a BB bank have a different timeline than a regional boutique?

General rule of thumb:

- Start networking in August, don’t have to be too hardo, would recommend to network throughout the fall semester, and more during october/november until end of recruiting

- Some apps open around September, but

- Most apps will open around January

- Follow up with your network you reached out during the fall by sending an update email or catch-up phone call; still keep networking and reaching out to as many people as you can

- Interviews from March-May

- Offers in May

There should be another thread called “Want to get me on the phone? Here’s how - a networking overview” that goes more in detail

Interviews at BB/EB/Buyside shops went on throughout late February until April with a few one off cases. This past cycle was extremely tight with market conditions and while you can probably expect some more favorable class sizes/superday offer offer rates, be ready to go when you get back from winter break in January.

I recruited for the SA 2024 cycle (Target, Non-diverse) - here's my timeline:

Soph Fall: didn't really do much besides a couple of firm events

Winter Break: grinded techs and crafted behavioral stories

1/2/23 onwards: networked like a bitch

Early-mid March: interviews started coming in, slowed down networking

Ended up finishing the process in the end of March. For reference, I had two offers and was in the process with about five other firms.

Hope this helps!
