Recruiting with other companies during internship

Hi guys,

I am currently a little under halfway through an internship at a Big 3 credit agency, and I am realizing that I am not super interested in rating bonds for the next few years. How inappropriate would it be to start reaching out to companies and managers now to try to set up informational interviews while I am still in the city for the summer? Is this something that I can get away with or is it likely to backfire on me? I am in a coverage group with exposure to asset managers and underwriters so I'm a little concerned about this making it back to my manager. Thanks for the help.
