Redemption Attempt After Rejection?

I was pretty sure that I would receive an interview (summer internship) with a particular firm that posted on my schools OCR website, mostly because my resume looks very good and my GPA is pretty high. I figured it would be enough for at least a first round but I was not given an interview. Now the firm will be on campus and I was wondering if I should make a redemption attempt by speaking with the recruiter or if I should just let it go.

I am sure there was a reason they did not choose to give me an interview but I feel like I am a really good candidate and that if I had the opportunity to interview I could make them see that.

So, do I risk them thinking I am some pompous ass who cant take no for an answer or do I approach them, and if so how?

I definitely want to speak to them but I am unsure of my approach. I do not want to come off like they did something wrong by not giving me an interview; I just want to see if there were some way I could get reconsideration.
