Rescinded offer due to employment verification?

I am going FT at a BB in the next two months. During my background check, they could not verify one of my employers. This employer is now out of business and I can not contact the owners. I did not keep my W2 (i know im dumb for this but i was 18 and was naive) and my future employer is requesting my W2 to verify my employment. They said a bank statement with pay deposits is okay, but my old employer used paper checks and my bank statements just say Check Deposits on them.

Any idea on what to do? Do you think my offer could be rescinded due to this reason? The job in question isnt even in banking it was a restaurant I worked at as a busser.

You can go to the bank branch and request the check images of your paycheck deposits.  Might take a couple days for them to pull the records.  Just be persistent.
