Senior Year - interview for Summer Analyst, had FT interview w same group

Okay, so I have searched re: this topic and have been a long time lurker of the site. Thank you for all of the help you have provided over the years.

I just received an invitation to interview on campus for an SA position. I am currently a senior and applied stating my grad date was Dec. 2011 because I know they do not accept seniors for SA's. I would consider graduating a semester late, or just taking a year off if I got the offer, as my situation is pretty crappy.

It gets better...I interviewed with them for FT in the fall and didn't get to the superday, and have a feeling it will be the same interviewers.

I didn't have an SA last summer due to circumstances out of my control and believe I can leverage that in my argument.

Do you think I will get dinged once they realize who I am and is there any specific way I should play it?

I appreciate any help or advice you guys can offer.

I once had the head of recruiting (HR) at a BB tell me to do precisely what you're doing. She said to "go for FT in the fall, and if it doesn't work out, go for SA the following cycle."

Maybe you could work into your explanation the "i'm willing to do anything to get an opportunity at your firm" angle.
