Should I apply for FT recruiting before or after I start my job?

I've recently graduated from university this past summer. I'm currently due to start a non-consulting role in the first week of October but I'm planning on doing full time recruiting for a consulting role in 2022. Most companies have just opened their applications and have a deadline around mid-October.

I'm contemplating between applying in September vs October.

September:

+: Early in the recruitment cycle + companies with rolling deadlines won't be full

-: less experience I can put on my CV + it would look like I'm unemployed (would this heavily detract from my application?)

October:

+: Get to put relevant experience in

-: rolling deadline might become full?

Would greatly appreciate any advice

So you graduated already and are trying to apply via OCR? The recruiting process is different for experienced hires and doesn't follow the OCR timeline.
