Should I follow up with recruiter after applying?

Hi,

I was invited to a company's in person networking event. Considering the costs of paying for someone's travel and lodging, I figured they were interested in me as a summer analyst candidate. However, I have not been first rounded since applying to their summer analyst position two or three weeks ago. I don't know if anyone else has been first rounded since I applied, but some people are already getting super days there. I applied more than a few weeks after I opened, and with a special recruiter link. The app closes at the end of the month. Should I reach out to the recruiter to follow up about my app?
