Should I go nepo baby route

I'm in IB now approaching 2 years in, and man this lifestyle is not that great. I can't keep up with my personal life, health and fitness, friendships and relationships, etc. My dad is a C suite exec for a public company and lives half the year between the US and Europe, and if I join his company/a company he's connected to I can live between countries, get in great shape again, enjoy my day to day. Or just jump to PE and keep slaving away. Idk man.

Sounds like you’ve came here looking for the confirmation bias needed to make a decision, I do the same. If I were you I would. Nobody’s gonna fire the C Suite’s kid, you’re coming from a qualified background and as such will have a clear pathway to rise through the ranks. I’d go for it

You are in such a good spot - have a couple friends who are similarly fortunate and have always told them to go for it long as they're reasonably diligent about their work/don't act like POS's when they get the gig.

In your shoes, I would do PE for at least 12-24 months (anywhere in there is probably fine) before going for it - will both let you enjoy the perks of the gig while ensuring that you've got a blue chip enough background that you can move up when dad leaves or go do something else if you get bored of your setup. Remember, careers are long, and dad leaving means you likely aren't protected anymore.

I'd also consider going to B-School (HSW only) before joining with your dad but not sure if timelines would match (i.e. would he retire in 4 years?). Regardless, would definitely dip your toe in PE for at least a year before making the move. Congrats man, sounds like you've won the lottery.
