Should I mention garden leave during interviews ?
Hi monkeys,
Long story short - been asked to resign and took the deal. If I didn’t, no guarantee I wouldn’t have been fired or would have got anything more than notice.
During my garden leave, should I mention to prospective employers that I am still in my current role ?
This is basically my plan and I would think factually right as long as I am on payroll, the only potential issue is if they asked for references and one of my guys says that I resigned 2 months ago.
however, I am a bit scared to say I resigned without anything lined up as long as I can avoid it. I think if it comes to that I’ll go travel for a few months and can legitimately craft a story around it, but not my first choice.
Any advice ?
Just disclose you took the payout and don't work there any more, most bankers (at least here in the UK) will respect it and know it's part of the risk of the role
Unfortunately not able to do that.
Separately, I’ll interview both in the sellside and buyside
